The checkout event type is used when a customer completes a checkout or cart completion flow. Typically sent at the point of purchase before payment processing.

Key Fields for Checkout Events

Field	Importance	Notes
transaction_amount	Required	Total cart value
currency	Recommended	Currency code (ISO 4217, e.g., USD). Not enforced by the API. If omitted, the amount is treated as USD, so a non-USD amount is converted wrongly and USD-based rules and reporting will be off
merchant_id	Recommended	Merchant the cart belongs to (e.g., mer_storefront_22)
product_ids_list	Recommended	Items in the cart
payment_method	Recommended	Payment method selected at checkout
